The brief was to provide a fresh new identity for the city of Istanbul that captured the dynamic essence of the city in a modern way. The client's main objective was to increase tourism and as such required a responsive website to accompany the new identity.
Istanbul is a transcontinental city meaning that it spans multiple continents (Europe and Asia). The two swirls in the logo icon symbolise the two continents with the fan between them representing the Bosphorus strait which separates the two continents.
The overall design direction was guided by the keywords vibrant, dynamic and mystical.
